Open courses – Attachment & Trauma (Introduction)

We recently ran a successful introductory course on Attachment & Trauma, delivered by Associate Trainer, Emma Spillane (Qualified teacher, adoptive parent, Education Consultant).

This is an introductory half-day course aimed at people who work with vulnerable children in education settings of all varieties, and covers the following:

  • Trauma
  • Attachment
  • Impact of trauma and attachment on brain development
  • Recognising different attachment styles
  • A number of considerations and practical strategies for supporting children with attachment difficulties and/or impacted by trauma.

Should you wish to book this training for staff in your setting, please do email or call 07811 101740 to discuss. We can deliver this as onsite training and will look to put on another open course in a few months’ time.

Here are some of the things attendees said:

‘Emma was a very approachable trainer. As a result of the training I take away a continuing awareness that some of the children we work with can have some deep-seated emotional needs. I found the session really inspiring and would recommend this training to others. ‘
Jane Allen, Learning Mentor, Parson Street Primary School

‘I really liked having the opportunity to talk and share experiences and practice. The training gave me some ideas to put into practice, and I think the whole school could benefit from having this training.’
Kathryn Wellington, Teaching Assistant, Parson Street Primary School
